Argentina vs South Korea. Its already predictable that Argentina will win with ease. The outcome? A 4-1 win for Argentina with forward Gonzalo Higuain scoring the first hat-trick of this FIFA World Cup. The Argentinian was elected the Man of the Match. He scored in the 33th, 76th and 80th minute to secure another win for Argentina and reached in top 16 group of FIFA World cup 2010.
Spain vs Switzerland. Spain were clearly the favourites to win. However, the Swiss shocked the king of Europe. Gelson Fernandes's strike against the run of play earned them a 1-0 win against European champions and joint-tournament favourites Spain. Spain had clearly dominated possession but 24 shots with 8 on target is just pathetic when they have so many top players such as David Villa and David Silva.
With more brilliant matches to come, who knows what other shocks could happen. I am still rooting for England and I hope England will at least reach the semi-finals. All the best!

S 'n' S: World Cup Part 2
The World Cup has already started a few days ago and there were quite a few surprises already. The new ball, Jabulani, which was the official world cup ball, had got many furious over it. Many complain that the perfectly round ball was a problem when shooting. Even goalkeepers whined about it. The ball is too fast and goalkeepers would have to be more alert.
In the England vs United States match, United States were clearly the underdogs. However, a costly mistake by Robert Green made England lose 2 precious points. The 1-1 tie meant that England would have to buck up if they want to have a chance to win the World Cup. However, things are not looking great for the England coach, Fabio Capello, as he faces a goalkeeping dilemma. After Robert Green made that fateful mistake, Fabio does not know which goalkeeper to choose from. David James was a calamity, Robert Green is rob-bish and Joe Hart is just too inexperienced.
All in all, I wish England all the best.

S 'n' S: World Cup Part 1
The World Cup is just a day away! I just can't wait for it! The opening match is between South Africa, the World Cup hosts, and Mexico. I am rooting for England this time as their team looks invincible.
Let me give you a brief introduction of World Cup.
The championship has been awarded every four years since the first tournament in 1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not contested because of World War II.
The current format of the tournament involves 32 teams competing for the title at venues within the host nation over a period of about a month. A qualification phase, which currently takes place over the preceding three years, is used to determine which teams qualify for the tournament together with the host nation.
Brazil have won the World Cup a record number of 5 times, followed by Italy with 4, and Germany with 3.
Italy, the defending champions, does not seem to have any chance of winning. Hopefully England's Wayne Rooney will try to curb his temper or else England's hope of the title will disappear into thin air.

Point: Dramatic tone
Evidence: "Green, pink, purple and other colors death potpourri!" and "Generations untold WILL pay"
Elaboration: "Green, pink, purple and other colors death potpourri!" suggests that the different agent colours will cause more deaths and cause the "death potpourri". Furthermore, "Generations untold WILL pay" suggests that the later generations will pay for the sins the current generation had committed.
2)Situation and Setting
Point: The setting of the poem is after Agent Orange has been used.
Evidence: "Toll on the innocent and unborn"
Elaboration: The speaker is talking about the devastating effects of the Agent Orange. Those innocent soldiers losing their lives while fighting and the unborn having birth defects when they are born. Toll is a harsh word which evokes emotional feelings.

Evidence: "Death potpourri"

Brief Introduction of Hubert
He was a Vietnam War veteran who served in the USAF Security Service. Along with a dozen or so intelligence school grads, prepped for about 14 months at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, Texas, before anticipating being sent to Vietnam or elsewhere in southeat Asia in 1970. About half ended up in Da Nang (an Agent Orange hotspot) in the 6924th Security Squadron. The rest of them were assigned to Shemya Island, Alaska, with the 6984th Security Squadron, and what eventually was a more contaminated environment than Da Nang.
Hubert's health problems started around 15 years ago with limb pains and unexplained headaches. His central nervous system radically deteriorated with Parkinsonian type tremors, severe headaches and progressive limb pains four years ago. No physician has ever diagnosed the specific illness and ever rendered any medical assistance to Hubert. He guessed that the symptoms were caused by the drinking of large amount of contaminated water at Shemya during that year there as an intelligence analyst. Organo-phosphate toxins may not run their toxic course until 20 to 30 years after initial exposure.

Agent Orange is the code name for an herbicide and defoliant—contaminated with TCDD—used by the U.S. military in its herbicidal warfare program during the Vietnam War.
According to Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 4,800,000 Vietnamese people were exposed to Agent Orange, resulting in 400,000 deaths and disabilities, and 500,000 children born with birth defects. This chemical has been reported to cause serious skin diseases as well as a vast variety of cancers in the lungs, larynx, and prostate.
From 1961 to 1971, Agent Orange was by far the most widely used of the so-called "Rainbow Herbicides" employed in the herbicidal warfare program. During the production of Agent Orange, dioxins were produced as a contaminant, which have caused numerous health problems for the millions of people who have been exposed. Agents Blue and White were part of the same program but did not contain dioxins.
He wanted to remind people that the war does not end even though it was over.

S 'n' S: Premier League Title
As one can see, my blog post today will be about the Premier League Title.
With only 1 match away, it seems that Chelsea will finally emerge as the champions. They currently have a 1 point lead over Manchester United.
Chelsea against Wigan. It is an easy match for Chelsea. However, I do hope that Wigan will be victorious in this precious match which will decide which team gets the title.
I am utterly disappointed that Liverpool seemed to deliberately lose to Chelsea to allow Chelsea to remain at the top of the league. Gerrard made a weak back-pass to goalkeeper Reina and the ball was intercepted by Drogba who converted the opportunity. After watching the replays, it seemed that Gerrard was "passing" the ball to Drogba. He could see Drogba from the angle he was at and yet he still made a weak back-pass. In the end, Chelsea won.
Liverpool was more willing to lose a match to Chelsea and end their own Champion League spot hopes than lose the title to bitter rivals Manchester United.
All I can do now is hope Chelsea loses at Wigan and Manchester United will take all 3 points against Stoke City.
